Equestria Girls: Good or Bad?

Hello, Bronies!

Now, today I would like to talk about the Equestria Girls movie and toy line. Lots of Bronies are very mad at Equestria Girls because the movie is a clichéd, high school drama movie, where Princess Twilight Sparkle goes into a magic mirror and turns into a human! In humanworld, Twilight must catch the villain, Sunset Shimmer, and retrieve the Element of Magic from her, along with the human counterparts if the rest of the Mane 6. My thoughts on the movie? I'll get to that later. First, I'd like to talk about the toy line. 

My thoughts? It is DISGUSTING!!!!! The dolls look BUTT UGLY!!!!! Hasbro only made it to compete with Mattel's Barbie, Monster High, and Ever After High lines! I hate, hate, HATE!!!!!!!!! the toy line!!!!!! Oh, and they are the reason Lauren Faust left MLP!!!!!! They are THAT BAD!!!!!!! They are pretty good quality as far as dolls go, and it you are a die hard MLP collector, I guess I can't stop you from buying them, but if you are a casual buyer or even a little girl, stay AWAY from Equestria Girls!!! Stick with Monster High, it's awesome! Burn EQG!!!!! Send it to HELL!!!!!!!!

The movie is an ENTIRELY different case. I mean, talk about the complete opposite! Although I wouldn't call it as good as the show, it is still pretty good! It is basically like a great long episode of the show, with the same voice cast and TV level animation. It is a direct-to-video/made for TV movie, but it did come out in a few theatres. Now, I used to hate this movie. It came out around the time I first became a Brony. I originally throughout the idea was incredibly stupid and was only to sell toys, and I was right about that last one, but hey, that's what My Little Pony is for too! I went on to hate it, until I actually decided to see it for myself. It was on Netflix, so I gave it a watch. I was pleasantly surprised! Yes, it was flawed, yes, the villain was weak, generic, and stupid, yes, some subplots went nowhere, yes, some scenes were rushed, but it was just so good! I actually really liked it! It was fun to try and guess who people's pony counterparts were, and the songs were awesome! The climax was cool! The shout-outs to Bronies were clever! It was good! I really like the character designs in this movie! They look really good! If the toys actually looked like they did in the movie, I would probably buy them! But, they don't, so, moving on! Now, let's get to the main problem I have with the movie, the villain. I hate Sunset Shimmer in this movie! She is so generic! I guess if you take Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, and mix them up with the Great and Powerful Trixie, and maybe a little bit of Queen Chrysalis, you get Sunset Shimmer. However, notice how I said I hated her IN this movie. I don't hate her outside this movie. There is an IDW My Little Pony comic book about Equestria Girls that explains Sunset's backstory. It also explains the events leading up to the movie, like how Sunset Shimmer took over Canterlot High. You see, she was Princess Celestia's apprentice before Twilight Sparkle was. She was a very good student, but then she learned about the mirror. She wanted to learn more, but Celestia refused to tell her anything. Sunset Shimmer got curious and she was caught sneaking around the mirror. The Princess banished her to humanworld. Sunset Shimmer vowed revenge on her. I feel really sorry for Sunset! She was only curious, and she was banished for it! This backstory has a moral, curiosity killed the cat. This is a backstory we can all relate to. This makes Sunset more likable, and more "human". No pun intended! I liked her so much, that I bought a standard My Little Pony figure of her! Apparently, she is a good guy in the My Little Pony toy line, so I drew on some evil eyebrows with permanent marker!  Overall, Equestria Girls is a must watch for any Brony! If you are an outsider, I'd say watch the show first, then watch Equestria Girls! I'd give this movie a 7/10!!!!! Not as good as the show, but still worth watching! Oh, and if you are one of those people who hates this movie, I totally understand where you're coming from! You have the right to your own opinion, it is the internet after all! I will still love and tolerate you!

Conclusion: Toy line = BAD!!!!!

                    Movie = Good!

Pegasister, Is The Term Right?

Hello Bronies! 

Today I would like to talk about the term "Pegasister". Is it right to use? The term is used to separate the male and female fans of MLP. It makes sense, after all, the word Brony comes from the word Bro, which is short for Brother, and brothers are male. (Duh!) However, in a fandom where gender stereotypes are non-existent, it is pretty hypocritical of us to seperate the fandom by gender. I used to have no problem with the word Pegasister until recently, when I realized that it was Nazi-esque of us to segregate ourselves. However, I have come across lots of girls who call themselves Pegasisters, not Bronies. So, my conclusion is if you are a female fan of the show, you can choose what you would like to be called, a Brony or a Pegasister. And, if you are a Brony, please respect what other people would like to be called!  We can be a peaceful fandom that way!
